Results from Sunday Times’ Top Brands Survey showed that Vodacom<\/a> is the top telecoms brand in South Africa, followed by MTN<\/a> and Cell C<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Coca-Cola was rated as SA\u2019s overall favourite consumer brand (Index score 94.13), followed by Koo (93.96) and KFC (90.85).<\/p>\n

Telecoms providers<\/h3>\n

Results from the 15th edition of the survey found that for telecommunications providers, Vodacom again ranked first (76.93), followed by MTN and Cell C. Telkom and 8ta (now Telkom Mobile<\/a>) were ranked at number 4 and 5.<\/p>\n

The survey noted that MTN was first for \u201cmost spontaneously aware\u201d and also the most used brand in the sector.<\/p>\n

Mobile phones<\/h3>\n

For mobile phones, Nokia<\/a> again topped the list with an Index score of 83.70, far ahead of BlackBerry<\/a> at 68.28.<\/p>\n

Samsung<\/a> ranked third at 61.85, followed by Apple\u2019s iPhone at 55.89 and LG at 38.76.<\/p>\n

Social networks<\/h3>\n

The Sunday Times also ranked top brands in the social networking space, with Facebook<\/a> winning out, ahead of Google+<\/a>, then Twitter<\/a>, and YouTube<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TV service providers were also ranked, with e-tv placing ahead of SABC1, DStv Premium, SABC2, DStc Compact, SABC3, and TopTv, last.<\/p>\n
