{"id":86613,"date":"2013-09-10T19:48:19","date_gmt":"2013-09-10T17:48:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=86613"},"modified":"2013-09-11T08:40:37","modified_gmt":"2013-09-11T06:40:37","slug":"iphone-5c-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/smartphones\/86613-iphone-5c-unveiled.html","title":{"rendered":"iPhone 5C unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342717-Apple-Inc\">Apple<\/a> officially announced the <a title=\"iPhone 5C\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/558947-Apple-iPhone-5C\">iPhone 5C<\/a> at a special media event held at its headquarters in Cupertino, California on Tuesday, 10 September 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming the rumours that surfaced ahead of the launch of the device, the iPhone 5C will have full LTE support, and be available in 5 colours and 2 size models.<\/p>\n<p>The back and sides are made from a single hard-coated polycarbonate part, according to Apple\u2019s <a title=\"Phil Schiller\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/331572-Philip-Schiller\">Phil Schiller<\/a>, while the front is a single-part glass multi-touch surface.<\/p>\n<p>The front of the iPhone 5C is black, while the back can be either blue, green, red, yellow, or white.<\/p>\n<p>According to Apple, the colours of iOS 7 and the colour of your phone will match out of the box.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_86633\" style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-86633\" class=\"size-full wp-image-86633\" alt=\"iPhone 5c backs all colours press shot\" src=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/iPhone-5c-backs-all-colours-press-shot.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"400\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/iPhone-5c-backs-all-colours-press-shot.jpg 600w, https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/09\/iPhone-5c-backs-all-colours-press-shot-250x166.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-86633\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">iPhone 5c backs all colours press shot<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Schiller said that the iPhone 5C has virtually the same spec sheet as the iPhone 5.<\/p>\n<p>One notable exception is improved LTE support, which he said is better than any other smartphone in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The 16GB iPhone 5C will be available for $99 on contract and $199 for the 32GB model, Schiller said.<\/p>\n<p>Pre-orders for 5C open on 13 September2013.
