MTN today announced that “from Sunday 5 July, MTN Pay as you go and Top Up customers who have recharged with airtime will get 15% Free airtime on their airtime purchases of R15.00 or more.”<\/p>\n

The free airtime can be used to make MTN to MTN calls, send SMSs to all local networks or to access the internet. The promotion runs until 8 August 2009 and the free airtime is valid for 30 days.<\/p>\n

“The good news is that even those who recharge for less than R15.00 at a time, will also qualify for the 15% Free airtime once they have cumulatively recharged for R15.00 or more during the promotional period,” MTN added.<\/p>\n

This is the latest promotion in a string of value adds from the mobile operators.  Cell C launched its Woza Wheneva<\/a> promotion in February, giving free Cell C–to–Cell C minutes to prepaid subscribers who recharge their account.  Vodacom followed suit soon afterwards with its ‘Free airtime’ promotion<\/a> for top up and prepaid customers where subscribers get 20% airtime added to any airtime recharge.<\/p>\n
