{"id":88037,"date":"2013-10-02T11:03:15","date_gmt":"2013-10-02T09:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=88037"},"modified":"2013-10-02T15:20:44","modified_gmt":"2013-10-02T13:20:44","slug":"akamai-node-comes-to-teraco","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/88037-akamai-node-comes-to-teraco.html","title":{"rendered":"Akamai node comes to Teraco"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Teraco Data Environments\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/212241-Teraco\">Teraco Data Environments<\/a> has teamed up with <a title=\"Vox Telecom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/222673-Vox-Telecom\">Vox Telecom<\/a> to make Akamai\u2019s global content available through its <a title=\"NAPAfrica\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/401029-NAPAfrica\">NAPAfrica<\/a> peering point.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Akamai Technologies\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/212578-Akamai\">Akamai Technologies<\/a> is a leading cloud platform for media and content delivery, application performance and Web security.<\/p>\n<p>The Akamai infrastructure will provide access to key content from global providers, as well as access to an SSL certificate node.<\/p>\n<p>The Akamai node and infrastructure will be set up in Teraco and connected to NAPAfrica in Johannesburg.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBy leveraging the Vox Telecom carrier network, and by being hosted in the Teraco DC, Akamai will deliver international content to local consumers at improved speeds at high end speed,\u201d Teraco said in a press statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDeploying our African node at Teraco forms part of our strategy to be a global provider of content delivery network services in Africa.
