{"id":88229,"date":"2013-10-04T11:02:48","date_gmt":"2013-10-04T09:02:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=88229"},"modified":"2013-10-04T12:17:07","modified_gmt":"2013-10-04T10:17:07","slug":"uncapped-dstv-media-gaming-data-from-telkom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/adsl\/88229-uncapped-dstv-media-gaming-data-from-telkom.html","title":{"rendered":"Uncapped DStv, media, gaming data from Telkom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Telkom\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/227037-Telkom\">Telkom<\/a> officially unveiled its Do Movies promotion and Do Gaming add-on for its capped ADSL customers at the rAge expo in Johannesburg on Friday, 4 October 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Running from 1 October 2013 to 31 March 2014, the Do Movies promotion will offer Telkom Internet subscribers uncapped data for DStv CatchUp online, DStv BoxOffice online, iTunes, and Samsung Video Hub.<\/p>\n<p>Telkom Internet head <a title=\"Erna Korff\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/287385-Erna-Korff\">Erna Korff<\/a> said it\u2019s important to note that some media platforms such as <a title=\"YouTube\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/363498-YouTube\">YouTube<\/a> and <a title=\"Netflix\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/368394-Netflix\">Netflix<\/a> are excluded from the unmetered Do Movies promotion.<\/p>\n<p>The Do Gaming add-on, available from Friday for a free 30 day trial, provides uncapped data to the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Battle.net, Steam, Origin, and the Do Gaming servers.<\/p>\n<p>This includes online gaming, and downloading games or patches from these services.<\/p>\n<p>After the trial period, the Do Gaming add-on will be available for R49\/month from 1 November 2013.<\/p>\n<p>Data will not be deducted from your cap when using any of the above services on a Telkom Internet DSL account.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Update: <\/strong>Korff has confirmed in a Q&amp;A session that the unmetered data for iTunes and Samsung Video Hub apply to any device that can access those services. Subscribers also have to be on at least Telkom Internet&#8217;s 5GB soft capped package and a 1Mbps line.
