{"id":8849,"date":"2009-07-19T23:49:00","date_gmt":"2009-07-19T21:49:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-07-19T23:49:00","modified_gmt":"2009-07-19T21:49:00","slug":"free-iburst-data-bundles-to-affected-users","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wireless\/8849-free-iburst-data-bundles-to-affected-users.html","title":{"rendered":"Free iBurst data bundles to \u2018affected users\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Numerous ex-iBurst subscribers received an unpleasant surprise recently when debt collection agents contacted them trying to collect funds for accounts which were closed and settled.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Now iBurst has handed me over to collection agents for an account that I settled and closed 3 years ago,&rdquo; <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?t=180888\">said one ex-iBurst subscriber<\/a>.&nbsp; &ldquo;I received information that I have a listing on Transunion for iBurst. I find this strange as this amount was settled about 2 years ago&hellip; this is fraud,&rdquo; another iBurst subscriber complained.<\/p>\n<p>iBurst confirmed that the individuals received the debt collecting correspondence in error:&nbsp; &ldquo;They were on the billing books of one of our previous credit controllers and these accounts had been closed.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Unfortunately when these files were handed over to a new credit controlling supplier these closed files were mistakenly taken as &lsquo;open&rsquo; or active files.
