Cybersmart<\/a> will double the storage space on its hosting packages from 1 November 2013, the Internet service provider\u2019s CEO, Laurie Fialkov<\/a>, has told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n

Fialkov said that they are able to offer the free upgrade thanks to the drop in SAIX<\/a> local bandwidth prices recently announced by Telkom<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cSAIX acquires more content from us than we take from them, so in a bizarre twist we actually pay SAIX for their users to fetch content from us,\u201d Fialkov said.<\/p>\n

With a cost reduction on SAIX local, Fialkov said that Cybersmart gets more bandwidth for the same price. \u201cWe don\u2019t actually get a discount because we are in contract,\u201d Fialkov explained.<\/p>\n

Since the amount of content served is a function of the disk space you provide to the customer, Fialkov said, a price break lets them offer hosting customers more space.<\/p>\n

The increase also applies to DSL subscribers that receive free hosting from Cybersmart.<\/p>\n

Another possible change is that they might drop their \u201cBlue\u201d package because none of Cybersmart\u2019s customers seem to take it, Fialkov said.<\/p>\n

This means that Cybersmart\u2019s website hosting packages will change as follows:<\/p>\n
