{"id":88971,"date":"2013-10-19T12:00:25","date_gmt":"2013-10-19T10:00:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=88971"},"modified":"2013-10-19T12:03:31","modified_gmt":"2013-10-19T10:03:31","slug":"supersport-mweb-streaming-conspiracy-dismissed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/broadcasting\/88971-supersport-mweb-streaming-conspiracy-dismissed.html","title":{"rendered":"SuperSport-Mweb streaming conspiracy dismissed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"SuperSport\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/389603-SuperSport\">SuperSport<\/a> has dismissed the theory that <a title=\"Mweb\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226947-MWeb\">Mweb<\/a> customers receive priority when streaming live matches from its website.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOutgoing traffic from the streaming platform is treated equally regardless of its destination,\u201d a spokesperson for SuperSport has told MyBroadband.<\/p>\n<p>The conspiracy theory emerged after some MyBroadband forum members complained of poor SuperSport online streaming performance to the company representatives of <a title=\"Afrihost\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/307435-Afrihost\">Afrihost<\/a> and <a title=\"Openweb\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/226986-Openweb\">Openweb<\/a>, while Mweb\u2019s uncapped <a title=\"ADSL\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/224881-ADSL\">ADSL<\/a> feedback thread remained free of such complaints.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the feedback that company reps have provided to subscribers on the forum, the Internet service providers (ISPs) have not been able to establish whether it is the users\u2019 connections or SuperSport\u2019s server infrastructure that is at fault.<\/p>\n<p>However, according to SuperSport, they haven\u2019t had any traffic-related problems on its streaming servers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe haven\u2019t experienced any load problems on our streaming platforms.
