{"id":89289,"date":"2013-10-24T15:56:20","date_gmt":"2013-10-24T13:56:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/?p=89289"},"modified":"2013-10-25T08:47:25","modified_gmt":"2013-10-25T06:47:25","slug":"mobile-browser-war-android-vs-apple","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/internet\/89289-mobile-browser-war-android-vs-apple.html","title":{"rendered":"Mobile browser war: Android vs Apple"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"Akamai\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/212578-Akamai\">Akamai<\/a> released its Second Quarter 2013 State of the Internet Report, revealing that <a title=\"Android\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/221979-Google-Android\">Android<\/a> Webkit remains the most popular mobile browser globally, with <a title=\"Apple\" href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php\/342717-Apple-Inc\">Apple<\/a> Mobile Safari a close second.<\/p>\n<p>The Akamai State of the Internet Report draws data from Akamai IO, which collects data on browser usage across PC and mobile devices, connecting via fixed and mobile networks.<\/p>\n<p>Based on data derived from Akamai IO for the second quarter of 2013, mobile devices on cellular networks using the Android Webkit accounted for slightly less than 38 percent of requests.
