Icasa is expected to name Pakamile Pongwana as its new CEO to replace outgoing chief Themba Dlamini, it was reported on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Icasa spokesperson, Paseka Maleka, told BusinessTech that no official communication has been shared with Icasa staff regarding an appointment to the position.<\/p>\n
However, according to TechCentral, two sources have indicated that Pongwana, a former Vodacom executive dealing with regulatory affairs, will take the position.<\/p>\n
\u201cRumours have been floating around for a while now, but there has been no official communication to Icasa staff regarding the appointment. As such Icasa cannot confirm the reports,\u201d Maleka said.<\/p>\n
Pongwana is expected to take up the position from November 1st, according to the report.<\/p>\n
Pongwana served as the managing executive of regulatory affairs at Vodacom from 2005 to June 2013.<\/p>\n
He previously served as Deputy Director General: Telecommunications Policy for the Department of Communications and holds a Master of Business Leadership and Organizational Leadership from UNISA, as well as a Bachelor of Accounting Science from Walter Sisulu University.<\/p>\n
