BlackBerry<\/a> resumed its launch of BBM<\/a> for Android<\/a> and iPhone<\/a> on 21 October 2013, and according to the company they had over 10 million downloads of the messaging app in the first 24 hours.<\/p>\n

\u201cBBM is looking great on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry, and the team here is very excited about the success of this launch,\u201d said BBM\u2019s Andrew Bocking<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m also pleased to say that BBM rose very quickly in the Apple App Store free app rankings in the first 24 hours, taking the number one slot in more than 75 countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that they have seen overwhelmingly positive reviews for BBM on Google Play and the App Store.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, BBM has earned 60,000 five-star reviews on Google Play from about 87,000 reviews,\u201d said Bocking.<\/p>\n

BBM for Android, iPhone – more to come<\/h3>\n

He said that while they are excited to bring BBM to iPhone and Android, this is not the end.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe committed to delivering a BBM experience on iPhone and Android that was equal to that on BlackBerry 10<\/a>. That means bringing BBM Video, BBM Voice and BBM Channels to Android and iPhone customers too,\u201d said Bocking.<\/p>\n

He said that his team is committed to bring these features to BBM on Android and iPhone in the near future.<\/p>\n

However, there is more. \u201cWe have some great new features planned that will build on BBM as the private social network you count on for immediate conversations you can control and trust,\u201d said Bocking.<\/p>\n
