{"id":9009,"date":"2009-07-30T16:16:00","date_gmt":"2009-07-30T14:16:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-07-30T16:16:00","modified_gmt":"2009-07-30T14:16:00","slug":"44-bandwidth-price-cut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/9009-44-bandwidth-price-cut.html","title":{"rendered":"44% bandwidth price cut"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The high bandwidth costs associated with local hosting services have been blamed as the main reason for the high number of South African websites being hosted overseas.&nbsp; International hosting costs are typically far more affordable than local services, especially when it comes to high bandwidth usage.<\/p>\n<p>While international hosting bandwidth prices are likely to remain significantly more affordable than in South Africa for the foreseeable future, local bandwidth pricing is starting to drop.<\/p>\n<p>Hetzner is the latest company to cut the price of its hosting bandwidth tariff.&nbsp; The company announced today that the price for bandwidth over-usage to their Managed Dedicated customers will be reduced from R0.09 per MB to R0.05 per MB &ndash; an affective price cut of 44%.
