Telkom has appointed Enzo Scarcella as its new chief marketing officer, effective the end of January 2014.<\/p>\n
This follows Scarcella leaving an executive role at Vodacom in September, confirming speculation that he would be jumping ship to Telkom.<\/p>\n
According to Telkom CEO, Sipho Maseko, Scarcella\u2019s appointment is in line with the priorities the company has set \u201cto attain the highest level of proficiency in actions such as investing in and repositioning the brand, shaping the Company\u2019s public profile, understanding customer needs and responding to changing customer behaviours.\u201d<\/p>\n
At the same time, Maseko said, Telkom has to strengthen its marketing effort, which Scarcella will be responsible for spearheading, amongst other initiatives.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe experience and skills Enzo brings to Telkom will not only boost our marketing capability, but will enhance our capacity to continuously develop our prowess in this critical area of the business,\u201d said Telkom CEO, Sipho Maseko.<\/p>\n
Scarcella has spent the last 18 years managing some of South Africa\u2019s biggest brands, including Castle Lager, M-Net and Edgars.<\/p>\n
For the past five years he has directed the Vodacom brand, including the brand\u2019s migration from blue to red, as Managing Executive of Marketing<\/p>\n
