{"id":9307,"date":"2009-08-23T23:07:00","date_gmt":"2009-08-23T21:07:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-08-23T23:07:00","modified_gmt":"2009-08-23T21:07:00","slug":"top-telecoms-and-it-brands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/business\/9307-top-telecoms-and-it-brands.html","title":{"rendered":"Top telecoms and IT brands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The results of the Sunday Times Top Brands Awards for 2009, conducted by TNS Research Surveys, were released recently.&nbsp; The Top Brands survey assessed companies (brands) on four principles:&nbsp; Brand familiarity, Brand presence and size, User brand rating &amp; experience and Public perception\/non-user rating.<\/p>\n<p>According to the survey Coca-Cola is South Africa&rsquo;s overall favourite brand, followed by Vodacom and Koo.&nbsp; The top 10 is completed by Nike, Clover, KFC, SAB, Nokia, Levi&rsquo;s and BMW.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When it came to telecoms network providers Vodacom reigned supreme with a brand score of 75, followed by MTN (69), Cell C (44) and Telkom (39).&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Nokia was voted the top consumer cellphone brand with a score of 85, followed by Samsung (69), Sony Ericsson (58), Motorola (47), LG (48) and Vodafone (2).&nbsp; In the Business-to-Business category Nokia lead the pack, followed by Blackberry and Samsung.<\/p>\n<p>Three telecoms providers featured highly on &lsquo;doing the most to uplift the community&rsquo;.&nbsp; Vodacom came in third behind Pick &lsquo;n Pay and Coca-Cola while Telkom was ranked sixth and MTN tenth.<\/p>\n<p>In the social networking space Facebook was top, followed by mobile service MXit, MySpace and YouTube.&nbsp; HP was rated tops in the computer and laptop category, followed by Apple and Dell.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?t=188375\">Top telecoms brands<\/a> &#8211; how would you rate them?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recent Sunday Times Top Brands Awards for 2009 sheds light on what users think of local telecoms providers<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[19],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-9307","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-business"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9307"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=9307"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9307\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9307"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=9307"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=9307"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
