WinAmp, a media player which was there at the dawn of the digital media revolution, is soon to be consigned to Internet oblivion.<\/p>\n
News of the shutdown of WinAmp emerged in November 2013, followed by rumours that Microsoft is interested in buying the player and Shoutcast, a media streaming service from AOL.<\/p>\n
