Radionomy, a radio aggregation service headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, is rumoured to be hours away from announcing a deal with AOL for WinAmp, according to a report on TechCrunch<\/a>.<\/p>\n

TechCrunch previously reported that Microsoft was in talks to buy WinAmp and its related online services from AOL following an announcement on the media player’s download page which said it would go offline on 20 December 2013.<\/p>\n

Despite this warning, the WinAmp.com website and Shoutcast service have remained available.<\/p>\n

There appears to be more evidence for this rumour, however, as WinAmp forum users discovered that the winamp.com domain now uses Radionomy\u2019s nameservers. A quick ‘whois’ confirmed this discovery.<\/p>\n

According to a fact sheet on the Radionomy website, the company has offices in Paris, Madrid, Frankfurt, Luxembourg, and San Francisco, and is backed by MusicMatic.<\/p>\n

MusicMatic SA is a Belgian music holding group which also owns Jamendo, a large library of free music, the Radionomy fact sheet explains.<\/p>\n

A French venture capital fund, OTC, also backs Radionomy, and according to the company it has raised $6-million in funding to-date.<\/p>\n

Radionomy did not respond to requests for comment by the time of publication.<\/p>\n
