The game along with The Beatles’ digitally remastered albums are set to go on sale later Wednesday, a move certain to again spark Beatlemania as well as long queues at record stores.<\/p>\n
Fans at the Cavern in Liverpool, northwest England, where the Beatles were first discovered, gathered late Tuesday for the launch of the game.<\/p>\n
They strummed away on plastic guitars, kept the beat on a drum kit and sang along as they tried to emulate their idols through the game.<\/p>\n
“It has that whole family appeal, bringing together parents, grandparents and kids to play this game,” said Neil Ashurst from computer game store Game.<\/p>\n
“Seasoned Beatles fans can step into the shoes of their heroes and a new generation of younger fans will be introduced to one of the country’s most iconic bands.”<\/p>\n
The Fab Four have been recreated in virtual forms in the game called “The Beatles: Rock Band”, that lets players join the band as they springboard from gigs in Liverpool to global stardom.<\/p>\n
Forty-five songs are included with the game.<\/p>\n
