A complaint about a programme broadcast on the Comedy Channel on DSTV was dismissed, the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of SA said on Monday.<\/p>\n

“The complainant regarded the video as being harmful in that a young man was injured after a vehicle was driven into him,” the BCCSA said in its judgment.<\/p>\n

“There was no clear indication that the driving of a vehicle into an individual could be equated with extreme violence.”<\/p>\n

The tribunal viewed the video which was broadcast on the programme Tosh.O in June last year.<\/p>\n

Tosh.O was an American television series hosted by comedian Daniel Tosh who provided commentary on online video clips, society, celebrities and other popular culture.<\/p>\n

The BCCSA said the video could be described as a stunt which the affected parties were fully aware of.<\/p>\n

“The programme was accompanied by an age restriction,” it said.<\/p>\n

“No contravention of the code was found.”<\/p>\n
