In effect, all legacy handsets will have accurate positioning technology available to them.<\/p>\n<p>Triangulation techniques that provide a location fix have long been available, but have never been as accurate as GPS. GloPos aims to change this, with their new technology that can position a user to within 40 metres, using data packets as small as 100Kb.<\/p>\n<p>Mikael Vaino and Alexander Le Bell run the small angel funded startup, and have not yet released a business model for the service. The technology is still patent pending and no information is available on the official site until next week.<\/p>\n<p>Web research company Compete has published statistics which indicate that 1 in 3 smartphone users access location based services at least once a month. Those who use the location services also tend to spend more money on data transfers each month.
