The Internet Service Providers\u2019 Association (ISPA<\/a>) published its latest email spam \u201cHall of Shame\u201d<\/strong><\/a>, naming and shaming South African spammers.<\/p>\n

ISPA highlighted that spam is one of the most significant threats to the Internet, accounting for a large percentage of all email traffic. \u201cSpam costs consumers and ISPs lots of money in bandwidth charges,\u201d ISPA said.<\/p>\n

ISPA\u2019s \u2018Hall of Shame\u2019, launched in 2008, forms part of the organisation\u2019s broader strategy to fight the growing deluge of spam across its members\u2019 networks.<\/p>\n

In its latest Hall of Shame report, ISPA lists three sets of companies \u2013 known spammers, email address resellers and repeat offenders which will remain listed for 3 years for continuing to send spam after they undertook to stop.<\/p>\n

To be removed from the ISPA Hall of Shame, a spammer must sign an undertaking not to continue spamming.\u00a0If the spammer persist in sending spam after signing the undertaking, they get relisted and remain so for 3 years.<\/p>\n
