22seven, a personal financial management (PFM) service that was acquired by Old Mutual, has revealed that it will launch a mobile application for the Android platform on Thursday, 6 February 2014.<\/p>\n
This follows the launch of 22seven\u2019s app for iPhone in April 2013, when it promised that an Android app was on the way.<\/p>\n
The PFM service lets users link their Internet banking and other online profiles with financial institutions to a 22seven account. Whenever you sign into 22seven it then automatically pulls your latest financial data and visualises it for you.<\/p>\n
When it launched, 22seven emphasised that it doesn\u2019t store the Internet banking credentials (account number or username, password, and PIN) of its users, but instead relies on Yodleee, a third-party financial data aggregation service used by many financial institutions around the world.<\/p>\n
The mobile apps let users sign into 22seven from their smartphones, which means you can trigger an update of your financial data without signing into the 22seven website.<\/p>\n
While the apps don\u2019t include all the features available on the 22seven website, they do let users view their current financial position, and view and categorise transactions.<\/p>\n
22seven costs R25\/month, and has a 30-day free trial for new users.<\/p>\n
