{"id":9684,"date":"2009-09-21T09:07:00","date_gmt":"2009-09-21T07:07:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-09-21T09:07:00","modified_gmt":"2009-09-21T07:07:00","slug":"prepaid-cellular-price-cuts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/cellular\/9684-prepaid-cellular-price-cuts.html","title":{"rendered":"Prepaid cellular price cuts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Vodacom recently announced two new prepaid packages, offering subscribers savings of up to 35%.&nbsp; Vodacom&rsquo;s &lsquo;All Day&rsquo; prepaid package will offer call rates of 3.1c per second for all calls to Vodacom, Neotel and Telkom.&nbsp; Calls to all other networks will be charged at 3.3c per second.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Vodacom &lsquo;All Day&rsquo; prices are significantly lower than the standard Vodacom 4u prepaid peak call rate of R 2.85 per minute which translates into 4.8c per second.&nbsp; The Vodacom 4u prepaid off-peak call rate of R 1.30 per minute to MTN &amp; Cell C (2.2c per minute) and R 1.12 per minute to Telkom and Vodacom (1.9c per minute) is however cheaper than the new service.<\/p>\n<p>Vodacom&rsquo;s second new prepaid package, &lsquo;Per Second Plus&rsquo;, is focusing on lower rates for Off-Peak calls.&nbsp; Off-Peak calls to Vodacom, Telkom and Neotel will cost 2c per second while Off-Peak calls to other networks will cost 2.2c per second.
