Project Isizwe<\/a> launched the first phase of its free Wi-Fi to open public spaces throughout the City of Tshwane in November 2013. Since this launch the number of users on the network increased significantly.<\/p>\n

According to Project Isizwe they have seen excellent growth – the network is now seeing an average of over 1,200 unique users per day, which is almost triple the average of 450 that was recorded just one month ago.<\/p>\n

The number of total unique users has also doubled in the last month, growing from 6,500 in January 2014 to more than 13,000 by 15 February 2014.<\/p>\n

The total sessions in that time have also grown remarkably, from 23,000 to over 61,000.<\/p>\n

Church Square in central Pretoria is seeing the most usage, which Project Isizwe said can be attributed to the amount of business activity occurring in that area.<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, as University year is just beginning, the locations around educational institutions such as TUT\u2019s Soshanguve campus and Tshwane North College have seen a large spike, and we expect those FIZ sites to further grow in popularity throughout the year,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n
