{"id":9859,"date":"2009-10-05T10:40:00","date_gmt":"2009-10-05T08:40:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2009-10-05T10:40:00","modified_gmt":"2009-10-05T08:40:00","slug":"problems-continue-at-neotel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/telecoms\/9859-problems-continue-at-neotel.html","title":{"rendered":"Problems continue at Neotel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Neotel has again come under fire from NeoConnect and NeoFlex subscribers who complained about <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?t=193078\">frequent disconnects, poor speeds and lackluster helpdesk support<\/a>.&nbsp; This comes only weeks after similar complaints from Neotel subscribers came to light.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My line has been dropping like mad lately,&rdquo; said one Neotel user.&nbsp; This comment was followed by numerous other subscribers confirming this problem, with comments like &ldquo;I am also having a lot of disconnections and problems when trying to redial,&rdquo; and &ldquo;I&#8217;m watching my downloads and the speeds are anything from 100KB\/s 1 minute to 40KB\/s next minute to a complete and utter disconnection and redials are coming back with random errors.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Neotel&rsquo;s customer support has also faced the <a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?t=194414\" target=\"_blank\">brunt of customer discontent<\/a>, with subscriber feedback like &ldquo;Logged a call last week for a techie to come out but of course no reply yet&rdquo; and &ldquo;Sad to see comments about people not even bothering with the Call Centre, honestly I feel the same way and now know to keep frustration levels low it&#8217;s best not to call the Call Centre and rely on my own patience.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Neotel&rsquo;s poor helpdesk support is nothing new, and the telecoms provider previously indicated that this may be due to their recent move to a new helpdesk support company.&nbsp; Neotel at the time said that it is confident that most of the problems will be ironed out in the coming weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The company was however not as forthcoming when it was asked about the network problems and the concerns raised by subscribers.&nbsp; Neotel&rsquo;s technical staff seem to have been informed about the network issues, but the company would not comment on the problems experienced by its consumers when asked for feedback.<\/p>\n<p>Neotel has also previously failed to comment about its &rsquo;35 GB fair usage policy&rsquo; on its uncapped WiMAX services, something which may give an indication that the company is unwilling to speak about issues which are of concern to consumers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/vb\/showthread.php?t=195615\"><strong>Neotel problems<\/strong><\/a> &#8211; give your views<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The company remains mum on network problems; customers suffer because of poor helpdesk support<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[3],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-9859","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-telecoms"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9859"}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/2"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=9859"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/9859\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=9859"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=9859"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/mybroadband.co.za\/news\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=9859"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
