Rethink pre-paid data that doesn’t expire after 30 days”.

This claim did not go down well with one consumer, who lodged a complaint with the ASA saying that the Telkom Mobile ad is misleading.

According to the complainant Telkom’s Mobile’s pre-paid data remaining at the end of the month actually expires. This is in direct contradiction to the advertising, the complainant said.

“When querying why his remaining 66MB data was not carried over and added to the next month’s 200MB data, Telkom Mobile became evasive and refused to offer any further assistance,” he said.

Telkom Mobile responded, saying that the advertisement in question was no longer being used.
