The 2009 The Times & Sowetan Top Retail Awards winners were announced recently, showing which retail stores are the most popular and how happy customers are with a certain retail brand.<\/p>\n

The Top Retail Grand Prix Award, which is based on the scores of all the retail brands, was won by KFC, with Edgars taking second place and Shoprite third.<\/p>\n

In the Electronics, Computer and Gadgets category Game came in first, followed by Hi-Fi Corporation, Makro, Incredible Connection and Dion.  Other contenders including Dion Wired, Apple iStore and BTGames attracted too small a sample for meaningful results.<\/p>\n

According to Debbie Booth from TNS Research – the research firm which conducted the 2009 The Times & Sowetan Top Retail Awards – not a single specialist and computer technology store made it into the top three.  “Specialist computer shops simply don’t have enough shops to build their usage number among consumers,” said Booth.<\/p>\n
