Thread: Telkom Mobile Billing FAQ

Is there any way to pay a Telkom mobile account online? I am told I need to go to ABSA to pay it. I always pay my normal Telkom account from the Telkom website - but there seems no way to do this for the mobile account.

Telkom services seem crap atm. My Wife got her new contract from Telkom. Everyone was friendly and helpful but then their weird passing the puck practices started.

The sales lady didn't seem to deem it important to inform us that Device fees aren't charged pro rata but instead in full twice for no reason other then the T&C said so!

She signed up for a new phone and package on the 27/02/2017 for 399.00 p/m. I understand pro rata it makes sense but the joke is they charged her R706.07 on her invoice 4days later! Phone: R300.00 (01/02/2017-28/02/2017) again Phone R300.00
(01/03/2017-31/02/2017) The Package is R99.00 + Pro Rata charges. Last part is fine.

Why the ..... would I pay for a phone for a entire month 1st Feb to 28th Feb when I didn't own it up until the last day 28th of the month?!?! And guess what happens when you contact Telkom and ask them to explain it? It's because our T&C's say so... Our sales agents won't mention it cause they can't justify it!

I was thinking about moving to Telkom from Cell C but after seeing them muck up at every turn with my wife's contract I'd rather not.

Took them 4days to port her number
The Telkom signal is horrible and your mostly roaming on the MTN network if I was living at the ass end of the world I'd understand but I live in Cape Town and by that I mean IN Cape Town not a farm or suburb 30-50km out.
I'm not even sure that if your phone roams on MTN and your not aware of it if you'd be charged for using your Mobile date on their network...even if it's a part of your Telkom package.

    Good day

    Just need to query

    1. My debit date has been set for the last day of the month but Telkom has debited on the 25th(Thursday) and 31st falls on the following Wednesday, this has now incurred costs on my side, is this Legal? who is responsible for my costs?
    2. If my services are suspended, how is it that I have to pay for month that is not in service, how do I get the benefits of the service I have paid for back?
    3. My wife taken 2 contracts separately albeit on her name, the one is paid in full however 1 is in arrears. Telkom has suspended both accounts, need some clarification on why?

    Thanks Nivian

Took out 4 mobile contracts with Telkom at the beginning of 2016. LTE 100gb, 2 x Mobile Phone packages and a mini LTE dongle thing.

Having Banked with Absa bank last year, all my debit orders go off smoothly and without an issue... Fast forward to February 2017, switched banks, changed debit order details.. BOOM!

telkom haven't been able to succesfully debit my account since Feb... resulting in those pesky "pay the money or we will suspend service". Every month I end up paying manually.

Having phoned numerous times and spoken to various incompetent people over the phone/counter, I just cannot deal with it anymore.

Word of warning to all those who wish to take out anything with telkom, just don't.

    November can't come quick enough.

Quick question about once off data bundles. If I purchase one near the end of the month and it carries over to the following month, which is used first in the new month? The now refreshed contracted data or the remainder of the bundle?

I took the July deal for my grandparents. Stated payment should go off the last working day of each month, yet none was taken.
Should I sit tight and wait for them or contact them to find out what happened?

I also make manual payments and have done for years but this year telkom mobile snuck in a penalty
Fee of 200 rand per month for returned debit orders that they submitted mid month when the actual
Invoice owing is only due and payable on the last day of the month which I pay as former debit account was closed by me due to suspicious activity from other sources
Unfortunately desk jockeys can't seem to remove the R200 fee ?

I also moved from the 10+10GB R199 deal to the July deal on 21Jul and still paid R199 at the end of July - at the end of August I expect a bill of R299+about R100 for the last days of July - they combined my remaining data of the 10+10 with the pro-rata 20+20 data on 21Jul, so all is fair

I am having an issue with Telkom, so I to stop working last month due to personal reasons, a Telkom Mobile debit order was rejected because of insufficient funds (this was end of July), and I later paid that amount, I later noticed my account was suspended. Upon calling their call centre, they said to me my service will resume as soon as payment reflects on their side.
At the end of August, 2 debit orders went off on my account, R1200 on the 25th and another +-R1290 on the 26th, I know my bill for August was R1470, which I paid. I called the call centre again, and the lady was useless in helping, I ended up going to my bank and reversed the first R1200. Later, I checked my Telkom bill online and noticed I owed them R2890 which is to be deducted at the end of September. I do not understand how all this is worked out right now, every time I call them, they're telling me they can't see the R1470 I paid and the R1290 they debited, I have all the proof with me that all this happened. Is this some scam, could my account have a debit order I don't know about? Why would they debit my account twice and not see it on their side?

Anyone know how to get Telkom to cancel debit orders?
Thinking of just doing an EFT to them monthly.
They keep messing up the billing
