Plan your .joburg, .capetown and .durban domains

UniForum SA has applied for four new domains from ICANN: .africa, .joburg, .durban and .capetown

In addition, we are accustomed to typing two or three letter domains.

Yep. Waste of time. Should rather open up the .za domain to more than just ".org.za" and ".co.za". How about .jhb.za, .cpt.za and .dbn.za if they really need these localized domains, but hell, nowhere in the world do you find top-level domains as long as ".capetown" or even ".africa" - it would have to be .af or something. I very much doubt it will be accepted, or even used much if it's passed

With the prices going to be more expensive, I cannot see that there will be a high take up of these.

I really think it is a money making scheme more than anything else, now you have to buy more domains to defend your existing name and there will be even more squatting.

South Africa has three capital cities: Cape Town, as the seat of Parliament, is the legislative capital; Pretoria, as the seat of the President and Cabinet, is the administrative capital; and Bloemfontein, as the seat of the Supreme Court of Appeal, is the judicial capital.

Google is your friend (yes, even after the Facebook IPO). ;-)
