Anybody else also down in Protea Village? Line has been dead since last night 8pm. Logged a call with telkom. let's hope it's not related to cable theft again

Wouldn't rule out cable theft just yet, it impacts line sections on quite a small scale, especially if the perpetrators are interrupted. Last time there was theft it affected a handful of houses around me, but several neighbours were fine.

Ended up being an issue on my line. According to the telkom engineer, my line got changed from PTM (VDSL) to ATM (ADSL) all on its own. Obviously my modem was set up for PTM so it couldn't sync with the incoming ATM signal.

Luckily it was quickly sorted, but how does this magically happen on its own? Can't wait to get rid of telkom..

Vumatel has scheduled the first town hall meeting for our area for Tuesday 12 December, 19:00 at the NG Kerk, 75 Heuwel Street, should anyone be interested in hearing what they have to say, or want to ask any questions.
