Default Small to medium business owners - how is turnover going?

Interested to find out how people are finding business this year? Finding this year challenging - load shedding and sluggish economy really hitting counter sales......

    How are you finding things?

Yes, retail side. From where I am sitting, upper middle class and above are still spending, but below that the taps are closed....

As is expected. I place myself in the lower middle class. For us there is no money to be spent on luxuries like fast ADSL, take-aways and the such.
Is the 10 Commandments for Christians?

Saturday is the Seventh day, Sunday is the first day.

I am probably only a fraction higher up than you describe. Same situation. I get a 10% annual increase (I am employed in our family business) which is usually swallowed up by annual increases of policies, rates, elec, alarm co, school fee's etc.

I am fortunate to have company car and fuel but things are tight. A large turnover section of our business is still nice and busy with several weeks of order book. The rest is sluggish and slow and negating the performance of the other section. Staff overheads are not giving the ROI they should be at this time of year

Big trouble coming... especially with the proposed 25% electricity tariff increases!

HUGE. If it gets approved, expect a recession.
