    How come?

I do 2 meals per day 90% of the time and haven't had any issues.

Because he wants to pick up weight and those meals looks like too little calories.

Personally I would advise to just add more calories to his current meals. As somebody who admits to overthinking things he might be better off with planning less meals until he gets a better hang of things.

Then do as Apoc suggested. Bigger meals. You need food to grow. But seeing as you are starting, follow your diet for 2 weeks and see how you feel and if its possible, increase your meal sizes.

Goodluck, its not easy when you have to start eating so much food.

So? I leave for work 5:25am for 6am, and both me and wife still get in Breakfast before we go to work. We do have trouble having lunch at work made the night before, but when we do have extra food thats what we have the next day for lunch at work. If you really want, its do-able, we just sometimes lazy.

I need an explanation of some advice.
So I've started going over to the banting diet, because I realized that I am becoming more insulin resistance (I picked up 10kgs since I left school 10 years ago and couldnt get rid of it). I have never been overweight (Max 70kgs, I am 1.78m tall), but I had an issue putting on muscle, despite being quite a fit person (I walk, hike and run a lot).

I am not sure why, but since I am on a ketogenic diet, my calves are growing and I am actually getting biseps and a 6 pack creeping up. This is a guy who had the common engineering syndrome of being skin, bone and poephol alone, destines to be lean but without a single muscle in my body.

I have seen a youtube video that insulin might block amino acids from getting into the cell for some people (I couldn't confirm the scientific source behind this and there is a lot of BS on nutrition, so I take it with a pinch of salt).

Basically I have been doing the following

    1. Eating more or less a banting diet (green veggies, Tomato, eggs, bacon, and duck (fois gras is awesome in France). I cut all sugar and starches, I never likes that stuff, except for Pap (which does not exist in Paris).

    2. Doing cardio 3 times a week, I am running for about 1.5 hours in the gym without stopping (Which is around 18kms on the tredmill). For the next 30 hours I do what I call army exercises (pull ups, push up, crunches and situps).

    3. Once a week I try to go on the machines, I am doing normal squads for now, given that I will probably snap my poephol if I had to lift actual weight.

    4. I go swimming once a week for about an hour, at our work we have a nice olympic piscine and I always have two lanes to myself.

Anyways, on the banting, I managed to lose the 10kgs in about 2 months, but now my muscle is keeping up and I have build up to about 2kgs of muscle mass, which is really something that is surprising to me.
