    I would rather use solar pannels . Batteries and a inverter. Get a generator ad backup.

    I've got a small chest freezer and I've used 50kWh from the start of the month. I guess I'll use just under 60 for the month.

    I'm not sure what that is in Rands, but almost 15% of my monthly use (should be 400kWh this month) ... I never realised how much power they used.

    PS Looks like I use far more on a warm day than a cool day too
