210ms is a tad higher than adsl.

I was hoping it would be lower (since most of the LTE towers are connected via Highspeed Fibre). I was hoping it's just the "distance from tower" that might add a bit of latency, but normally Fibre is like 3-5ms if it's local. If it's overseas then seacom or one of those also come into play with their latency obviously.

I'm getting around 180-190ms normally on an Congested ADSL area.

I've purchased an Telkom LTE sim this morning. (I've got an Samsung S7 Edge cellphone, which supports LTE and LTE-A upto 450mbit)

I'll play a game or two of CSGO and League of legends later.. see how it goes.

Ye.. pings were poor. Speedtest show almost 20mbit down and 13mbit up. But ping anywhere from 250 to 550ms on league of legends.

Csgo locAl server was 140ms to 220ms.

Exactly the same here, 6pm to 12am. I complain and send messages to 180 everynight and everynight is the same. I really hate these guys. They have one job to do.

The whole Telkom network, fixed line a included, falls over at 7pm, back at 12pm. It's always been like that.

How fast are u downloading an actual file??. lets say 2GB file via http

What ive noticed is that u cannot really trust speedtest results on telkom LTE.. Speedtest for me shows like 18Mb/s but my downloads run higher close to 27Mb/s..

Back on topic.. yes telkom speeds have degraded over the last 18 months..

I have a B618 router at our small office setup in Hatfield, Pretoria. Any recommendation on the best channel to use? I'm hoping for some form of carrier aggregation.
In South Africa even the information superhighway has potholes in it.

Only way to really know is to switch between the available frequencies and speedtest.

Well if you use a Telkom supplied B618 You basically have 3 options.

Band 3 only. Band 40 only or leave it on auto but forced to 4G only and get LTE-A on Band 40 which is basically B40+B40 carrier aggregation.
