I have given up with this. It works for everything I want except the thing I use the most Battlefield 2.
I often get it dropping my connection to the server and then I drop out of a game (normally when im leading) and I get well pissed off. Sometimes a router reboot works but most of the time it doesnt. Once it has disconned once it will do it a bunchof times after that. I have checked with a route -n | grep <ip range> and the routing is setup correctly but it just doesnt work. Im going to reflash the linksys this weekend and then redo the scripts but I dont have much hope for it.
Its a real pity because I loved the functionality and I got better latency from my WRT than I do from my silyl normal wireless dsl router.

There was a bug in version 12a that may well have affected any port forwarding (ie serv commands) you used. So when you set it up again make sure you use version 12c of the script.

GC, or any others using this script: any recommendations for a modem that pairs well with the Linksys 54GL? My horrible Telkom Premium Combo is dying (or at least, making enough of a high-pitched squeal to make me happy to pretend it's dead, and trash it).

Well, I've been using a Billion 5200S which has served me well, without any issues, for two and half years.

@GC: Hi GC, a quick question, if I may....

Is there an easy way to rerun just the route generation part of the script?

Reason is.... I've noticed with the new 12c script (it happened less with the previous versions) it sometimes doesn't generate the route table properly on router reboot, but since I can see the routes.txt file is there via SCP, I wondered if there is a way to fire off a .sh via putty to just regen the routes....?

(I think there may be an occasional timing issue, or a cpu too busy situation on boot that stops the routes from being generated).

You can just run the build file again. So, for example, if you want to regenerate local routes for ppp1, you would run

    /tmp/build.ppp1

And probably best run the firewall script afterwards to complete it:

    /tmp/build.wall

Thank you, will try that next time it happens.

    Hi

I am new to this. I have a WRT54GL Router.

I have installed the script, but it seems it is not running.

    no ppp connections.

when i run "ls /tmp/" i get this output

    checklink
    cron.d
    crontab
    dnsmasq.conf
    dnsmasq.leases
    etc
    hosts
    igmpproxy.conf
    loginprompt
    oet
    ping.log
    ppp
    resolv.conf
    resolv.dnsmasq
    root
    var
    www

I don't really now where to start to trouble shoot . Any help will be appreciated.

Double check your login details. You can PM the configuration section of your script to me. Also make sure there are no broken lines (which can happen if you use notepad with word wrap on to edit the script).

    Default Incomplete routes.

    Hi

I've been running which I believe is script 12c now for awhile and all seems to be working.

I'm running it with Conn0 International, Conn1 IS local and Conn2 as SAIX local.

This all seems to be working great as I can simultaneously connect to International content and download from both SAIX & IS news servers. Doing a tracert to the different addresses also reveal that the correct routes are being used.

My problem is accessing a Quake 3 server hosted by SAIX.

Running a tracert gives the following:

    Tracing route to raidium.saix.net [196.4.79.8]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 1 ms 1 ms <1 ms TRIA58 [192.168.2.1]
    2 24 ms 25 ms 27 ms dsl-146-152-01.telkomadsl.co.za [165.146.152.1]

    3 29 ms 25 ms 25 ms tpr-ip-esr-1-ge-6-0-0.telkom-ipnet.co.za [196.43
    .10.86]
    4 * * * Request timed out.
    ..
    30 * * * Request timed out.

    Under IPs I've added:
    quake3=196.4.79.8
    etc.

    and are then running:

    conn 2 aux $saixnews $quake3
    link $auxname $auxpass

    Any ideas?

It works fine if i force it to my International Acc.

Try opening the quake 3 ports on ppp2 -

    conn 2 aux $saixnews $quake3
    serv tcp 27950 $mypc
    serv tcp 27952 $mypc
    serv tcp 27960 $mypc
    serv tcp 27965 $mypc
    serv udp 27950 $mypc
    serv udp 27952 $mypc
    serv udp 27960 $mypc
    serv udp 27965 $mypc
    link $auxname $auxpass

    - as this may overcome any source routing issues. You may want to check the port numbers (I googled them), to make sure they are also apply to the SAIX game server.

Anyone using the Axxess 626 account and the cron commands discussed a while back on this thread? (http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showpost...&postcount=945)

Am curious to give it a try, but unsure if the technique discussed there is still working with the new version of Gatecrasher's script... thanks.

Thank you very much. It was a broken line in the script. Everything is working now.

Is everyone using dd-wrt v24 sp1? I've been experiencing some issues with this version and on the dd-wrt forum they recommend upgrading to a later build.
