Massive flaw in old Ster-Kinekor website leaked clients’ private data

Ster-Kinekor’s old website, which was replaced in 2016, had a security flaw which leaked the private data of as many as 6.7 million users.

South African software developer Matt Cavanagh, who goes by RogueCode, discovered the vulnerability and alerted Ster-Kinekor to it.

Ag no man. Another day, another hack.

So sad there are people who take perverse pleasure in hacking other people's sites, entering others' property and helping themselves. Every key we carry is a symbol of our human family's dishonesty.

We can't solve our human problems with technology. The only way this can change is if each and every one of us freely chooses to respect other people's property.

A pox on these and all hackers.

Yeah, he should just leave it exposed and tell no one and just let other nefarious people access it and use the stolen data for other more sinister things, amirite?

Ja, apols. My post is rather undirected. A general lament against barbarians.

Roguemat did good. He handled it professionally and responsibility. Hats off to him.
