Default 'Missing' Thembisile Yende lay dead in her office for 10 days

Johannesburg – Eskom employee Thembisile Lucia Yende lay dead in her office near Springs for more than 10 days, despite police dogs sniffing the premises where she was found.

"On the day she was reported missing, police came and searched the offices. They even had police dogs there but could not pick up any smell," Eskom national spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe told News24.

Her body was found in her office which remained locked since the day she went missing. Her car was also found in the parking lot, Phasiwe said.

The 29-year-old was last seen on May 17.

No one thought of checking her locked office?

When asked why no one in the offices picked up that the door remained locked for too long, Phasiwe said: "It is a remote site with small offices".

"It is outside Springs. It is not like your normal offices, you don’t have people coming in and out there every day."

How did she die? This is shocking! Her employers knew she was missing and nobody unlocked her office door?? What?!!

And why would police dogs show up so soon after someone went missing? There are a number of steps one takes when a person goes missing and bringing sniffer dogs is definitely not the first thing. But , for the sake of argument, if you do decide to use sniffer dogs, you would most certainly unlock that person's office to let the dogs in there, right?

    The incompetency is shocking!

Clearly not.. cos you know reasons....
But of course, police dogs won't necessarily smell anything on the DAY she goes missing, the body has only just started decomposing so probably isn't emitting any foul odours just yet.

So none of her managers even bothered to get an update from her?

Sad state this, very telling of the country at the moment when an Eskom employee can be dead for 10 days and nobody notices.

    Probably affirmative action candidates.

That 30% chiwawa quota was probably the cause.

It's not unusual for people to leave their cars at their places of work for prolonged periods.

Don't they have guards at the gate? CCTV cameras?
