    Default Early.Connect

    I received this email today.
    Early.Connect

If you enrolled your interest in our new LTE-A service, we invite you to participate in a fantastic offer which we call ‘Early.Connect’.

    The following applies:
    1. A minimum spend with iBurst of R 199.00 per month.
    2. The offer includes a brand-new Huawei router*** and SIM card
    3. If your current subscription is below R199.00, you will be required to migrate up to a R199.00 package before you join ‘Early.Connect’. There will be a R600.00 once-off fee. You will then get a free LTE-A data allocation of 20Gigabytes per month on ‘Early.Connect’. Valid from the time of delivery until 31 August 2017**
    4. Packages above R199.00 per month will receive 100 Gigabytes of free data per month valid from the time of delivery until 31 August 2017**
    5. No mid-month top-ups available. You will fall back on to your iBurst Wireless connection should you run out of data during the month.
    6. This offer is obligation free and at no extra cost to you* whatsoever, as it runs in conjunction with your current paid up iBurst subscription.

The offer is dependent on your use location falling into a coverage area, so don’t delay and give us a call to check if you qualify before 31 August 2017.

Call us on 087 727 6550 now, we look forward to welcoming you to our super-fast LTE offering. You can also log on to our new self-service website and check if you are in coverage and begin the sign-up process. Go to www.lte.iburst.co.za

    * Subject to your current subscription.
** Fully commercial packages will be available from 1st September 2017
*** Huawei Router B618 or B315 at iBurst discretion and dependent on stock availability.

    Warm regards,

    The LTE-A Migration Team

i do received my early connect letter, but telling me my area is not covered yet, I always searched for signal with my cell phone, and 65519 is available at illovo. the website is not showing LTE map incorrectly. I is at boundary, and the signal is available, I don't know how they measure this.

I see LTE 65519 signal for 2 years, but also not on their coverage map. It is perhaps used for something else, as normal company would not afford maintaining towers for such long time. I guess they got real business from these towers and they don't really want many customers from the street.

I spoke to Iburst about it, the client service normally would work with the map, but sent with the iphone screenshot of the signal, they approved my application of Early Connect.

    Following mail received from I-Burst.......

    Dear iBurst Subscriber,

    1. INTRODUCTION
For over a decade iBurst has been providing South Africans with cost-effective broadband services. These services have been provided by the iBurst Wireless Network (“network”). However, due to technology obsolescence it is no longer viable technically or commercially for this technology to be supported.
    2. CANCELLATION
Please be advised that the network will be closed-down, effective 31 August 2017 and we hereby provide you advance notice including the requisite 20 (twenty) business days-notice thereof. The network will not function from this date onwards and our respective obligations in terms of the Subscriber Terms and Conditions shall cease, including but not limited to support and billing.
    3. GOING FORWARD: WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU
3.1 By 31 August 2017 you are required to exercise ONE of the following options:
    3.1.1 Take no further action. – your contract with iBurst will terminate in accordance with the notice above and all services and billing will cease;
    3.1.2 Migrate to LTE-A, subject to the terms and conditions of our Early.Connect offer and remain with iBurst’s parent company “RAIN” on a month to month basis until your account is transferred to one of our nominated partners;
3.1.3 Subscribe for LTE-A services through our appointed Channel Partner - Internet Solutions (“IS”) IS serves as an open access distribution partner for Rain’s network through their wholesale and reseller channel of ISP’s. Please contact Internet Solutions directly who will be able to guide you to an ISP who are selling their LTE-A packages as well as give you further information. Please contact IS directly by emailing: [email protected]'.
    4. FOR THE AVOIDANCE OF DOUBT:
4.1 On 31 August 2017, you will no longer receive an iBurst Wireless service from us. Your iBurst modem will not receive a connection. We do not require your iBurst modem to be returned to us and you are free to dispose of this.
4.2 Upon termination of the Agreement and where data, airtime or related Services remains unused, iBurst shall not in any way, convert such unused data, airtime or related Services into credit on the Subscriber’s account and refund same to the Subscriber.
4.3 All Value-Added Services, to the extent that they have not already been terminated or cancelled are terminated herewith. This includes but is not limited to, iCall, Emails, Antivirus and any other “VAS” supplied by iBurst to the subscriber.
4.4 All @iBurst.co.za and @wbs.co.za email services. You may elect to have your @iburst.co.za or @wbs.co.za email address migrated to a business partner (247Online, subject to their applicable fees and tariffs) as a means of preserving these services in the future. You will, or may already have received communication in this regard.
4.5 You will not be billed for any iBurst Wireless service after 31 August 2017.
Should you wish to migrate your iBurst Wireless service to LTE-A (if you haven’t already done so) please follow the link below for more information.

Seen nothing in writing regarding deals/prices for Early.Connect folks as yet. Only seen what's available via the various providers (per discussions elsewhere in this board).

    Help with Outgoing e-mails?
So now that I use the LTE service, I note that I can receive e-mails, but cannot send any unless I switch back to the Old I-Burst Network. So there's obviously a setting somewhere in Outlook that needs to change. Can someone advise this silly old toppie, what needs to change and what it needs to change to?
    Any and all assistance appreciated.

Received a call this morning from Bonnie (Rain/I-Burst consultant) regarding a query I sent them as to what's happening going forward.

She advised that management are currently in discussions regarding packages/deals and plans for going forward. A decision will be made shortly and we'll be notified within the next 2 weeks. She confirmed that we will not be dropped from the Rain/I-Burst coverage come 1st September.

    We await in anticipation....
