Default Schoolgirl Chloe Gilbert died after accidentally eating kebab (UK)

A teenage girl with a severe dairy allergy died around two hours after accidentally eating a kebab containing yoghurt, an inquest has heard.

Chloe Gilbert, 15, went into anaphylactic shock shortly after having lunch with a friend while on a shopping trip in Bath city centre in March.

Avon Coroner's Court heard a passer-by gave her an EpiPen injection, used to treat such shocks, before paramedics arrived.

She was airlifted to Royal United Hospital in Bath, where she was pronounced dead around two hours after eating the meal.

Dr Peter Harrowing, assistant coroner for Avon, said: "This was an accidental exposure to dairy products to which Chloe was severely and seriously allergic and therefore her death is an accidental death."

Pathologist Dr Deborah Cook confirmed the cause of Chloe's death was anaphylaxis and aspiration of vomit due to "exposure to yoghurt with a known allergy to dairy product".

I had a woman teacher, we discuss allergies in class, one or two kids were allergic to something, but the teacher was allergic to almost everything.

The article did say kebab, not kebapche, but hey, anything is possible in Bath.

    Anaphylaxis is terrifying!

My son has a severe Bee allergy (inherited from my Grandmother) and carries a Epipen everywhere with him. The first time he experienced this allergic reaction was seriously traumatic to all involved and was a serious medical emergency.

This poor family RIP little one

This scares the absolute bejesus out of me. Im not allergic to anything that I know of but have this phobia about suddenly becoming allergic to something.

I also wonder how someone in this poor girls case finds out they are allergic to something like dairy products without dying in the first place if the allergy is so severe? Do these things get worse as time goes by so the initial discovery is not as bad?

Different reactions. You get lactose intolerance which will kill you slowly with diarrhoea and at the other end is anaphylactic shock which is quick.
I and the voice inside my head, which is actually my conscience, both agree that Jehovas partenalistic rulership is better than Satans liberal anarchy.
