Afrihost SIM cards issued before the launch of voice products are not affected.

I am very angry with Afrihost.
I ordered a Xiaomi Redmi note 4 with 500mb data about 3 months ago.
I took their SIM out for about 2 months ago and wanted to give it to my mother to use as she is currently sick in bed.
This SIM was bundled with the Xiaomi so it is a Afrihost SIM.
Last week the SIM wasn't working in my phone and support tells me to call 555 and hang up.Then asked if I gave consent by entering that code.
Turns out my SIM is cancelled!
I have been engaging with Ryan at Afrihost support since last week.
Last Friday I was told the MTN team is looking into for activation and they will update me.
Not getting any response from my emails anymore.
Hoping I will go away and not pursue this any further.
I cannot believe how bad the service has become.
My complaint has a reference if it matters:[#RAB-230-73742]: my sim
    Shocking!

Welcome to our club... Looks like I will be telling everyone to rather get the sim card (and xiaomi deal) from Axxess instead

@AfriFella, any feedback from Mobile Theft Network?

Is it possible to cancel the current (numberless) SIM and get a new one with a new number instead?

If it happens to me (on Axxess btw) I'll just cancel it and go over to the devil that is Telkom.
Time is almost at an end.

Not possible to transfer the data on to another sim. I can cancel the sim though.... I just did that actually and gave them a bad service rating.

Axxess only lets you load data on a contract sim. I am not sure how their free data on the Xiaomi works...

Your complaint definitely matters. I've asked our team to look into this and investigate what happened
If AfriMan says it, it is so!

If you asked an excellent question, please post on Answers!

Data sims should never expire to my knowledge - it should only affect prepaid voice SIMS

My apologies, but I'm not sure that's the case. The only sim cards that we are able to keep from going dormant are sim cards that we issue to Clients for Mobile Data and Mobile Voice products. Clients that opt to migrate a sim card for Voice also do not have to worry about this.

If a Client has us add our APN Mobile Data to an existing PrePaid MTN sim card, there is no way for us to keep that sim from going dormant.

    This isn't true....

I was a victim of such ... and it was an Afrihost issued sim with my Xiaomi...

Today @AfriFella promised he will resolve the matter by 12pm.

The dud sim's data allocation has ceased, but I still do not have the 500MB loaded on to my other sim as agreed.
