Trump-tied lobbyists linked to $42M in lobbying in 2017

Dozens of lobbyists are using their connections to President Trump and Vice President Pence to start new firms or expand existing ones, according to a new government watchdog report.

Public Citizen found 44 active lobbyists with ties to Trump or Pence who have contributed nearly $42 million in lobbying revenue and spending through the first half of 2017. The group released its findings in a 58-page report Thursday.

The figure represents the lobbying fees for those working at K Street shops, in addition to the advocacy spending by organizations where the administration-linked lobbyists work in-house.

    Trump actively sabotaging healthcare.

    Trump sabotage seen on ObamaCare

The Trump administration is taking a hatchet to ObamaCare after failing to pass legislation through Congress repealing President Obama’s signature law.

The administration has cut funding for advertising and outreach by 90 percent, raising the odds that fewer people will join the health-care exchanges during the fall enrollment period.

It has slashed funds by 41 percent for outside groups that help reach and enroll likely ObamaCare consumers.

The enrollment period has also been chopped in half, and the administration announced plans to take down the Healthcare.gov website for maintenance for hours at a time on several days during the sign-up period, two other steps likely to cut into enrollment.

President Donald Trump personally told a top federal health official to reject Iowa's pending request to try to stabilize its individual insurance market with a waiver from Obamacare rules, according to a new report.

And a leading Obamacare expert now says that Trump's reported call seems to be part of a broader effort to actually drive up prices of Obamacare health plans so as to "undermine" the Affordable Care Act.

Republican Senator Bob Corker has responded to President Trump’s Twitter tantrum against him this morning. The response will raise some eyebrows:"It's a shame the White House has become an adult day care center. Someone obviously missed their shift this morning."

    Wow.

Corker is a lame duck — and as such is free to say out loud what other members of the Senate may be thinking, but unwilling to say in public.

Trump’s strategy of alienating one Republican Senator after another, with an extremely thin margin in the Senate, is obviously part of some diabolical eight-dimensional chess tactic. Maybe we can get the Dilbert guy in here to run an op-ed explaining the brilliance of this strategy to all of us rubes.
    Yup...

He pretended it was a whole 'taking a stand' schtick, but it appears to have been planned. The press pool were apparently told to wait in the cars because they'd be leaving early, and he used a 3 year old picture on Twitter to show he was there.

Bob Corker Says Trump’s Recklessness Threatens ‘World War III’

Senator Bob Corker, the Republican chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, charged in an interview on Sunday that President Trump was treating his office like “a reality show,” with reckless threats toward other countries that could set the nation “on the path to World War III.”

In an extraordinary rebuke of a president of his own party, Mr. Corker said he was alarmed about a president who acts “like he’s doing ‘The Apprentice’ or something.”

“He concerns me,” Mr. Corker added. “He would have to concern anyone who cares about our nation.”

Ja indeed you are. Every body virtue signal. Sometimes for a worthwhile cause.
I have found that the right at least own the labels thrown on them. Call them nazis, and they'll go out and get the tattoos and flags to match and do a Hitler salute in public.
Call a lefty a snowflakes and in stead of celebrating their individuality and vulnerability(which they fought for) they would take it as an insult, be offended, cry about it, and eventually try and incorrectly apply that same name to the other side in some wierd form of whataboutism.

As Puerto Rico Still Without Electricity And Food, V.P. Pence Spends $250,000 Taxpayer Money On NFL Walkout

The Trump administration is coming under fire for spending $250,000 in taxpayer money on Vice President Mike Pence’s NFL walkout at a time when American residents are still without food, water, and electricity in storm-ravaged Puerto Rico.

Pence showed up for Sunday’s game between the Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers but left just after the national anthem, saying he could not support the event after several players took a knee in protest. Pence quickly issued a statement condemning the NFL player protests.

Soon after Pence’s protest, media outlets noted that his exit from the NFL game appeared to be planned well in advance. As ESPN reported, the reporter in the press pool with Pence had been told to stay outside the stadium as Pence was planning to leave early. Others noted that Pence had planned to attend a fundraiser in California later in the day, indicating that he had no intention to stay at the game.

And Donald Trump later noted that he personally asked Mike Pence to leave the game if any NFL players protested — which was almost a certainty given that several 49ers players have been engaged in protests during the national anthem dating back to last season.

I haven't seen any cases where someone called a right winger a Nazi, which resulted in them going out and getting tattoos and doing Hitler salutes. Isn't it more a case that like...they have a bunch of tattoos and flags and they march in public doing Hitler salutes, and then they get called Nazis? <--- Yes, it is.
