What new terms are you referring to? I just emailed Afrihost to ask if I can cancel without penalty if the service is poor. Waiting to hear now.

Anyone know what the difference is between these 2? Except for the price...

Is this the type of antenna one would need to boost signal guys? http://www.otto.co.za/products/anten...-antenna-11db/

Do you need this as well? http://www.otto.co.za/product/ts9-to...adaptor-cable/

That is good speeds, I also have a xpol 2 and are sitting at -71dbm but my speeds average about 25Mbps down. I do however have a number of trees between me and the base station.

So if you are just outside the coverage area installing an antenna will help ? Or is it just a hit and miss situation ?

The ISP will not actually allow you to take up the service and if you some how get the package and need support this will become difficult because once the technicians see that you out of the coverage area they will basically put all issues down to you not being covered.

Just asking because where my father in law stays the coverage stops a few houses away from his place according to the map. Just wondered if an antenna would have helped in his situation.

Afrihost has a "I'm sure I have coverage option". Just use that. All depends on the terrain and whats in between his house and tower. Generally even if you have no signal inside a house an antenna on the roof should work if you are that close. I tried at another location also about 100m outside of coverage through heavy trees. 100dbm and 50Mb down.

Will advise him. Thanks. How can one find out where the specific tower is ?

Try guess from the map. Try find the edges and follow them back.
