Thread: Afrihost - We are very cross with you

  1. #1

Default Afrihost - We are very cross with you

Existing customer with 3 SIMS on Afrihost.

Ordered Rain on 21/09/2017 (Account page still to this day does not show an active order, but Connectivity shows the package with 'payment received' ((which takes you for-bloody-ever on debit order, WTF, existing customer)) but will it ever be handed to a courier?)

So now ten days later, support requests not answered, holding on phones -- what an utter joy Afrihost.

And now... now you are giving routers for free... yet you cant service the current orders. sigh

    Suggestions anybody?

Update: Received order on the 4th and it was active within 2 hours. Speeds, signal, connectivity all better than hoped for.

I believe most of us who are experiencing issues are directly relating to Digital Planet dropping the ball on Afrihost here, but naturally Afrihost is the face we dealing with and everybody wants these deals so its lank busy.

Afrihost has resolved my problem much to my satisfaction which is appreciated. I hope all others will also come to an amicable solution.

Had the same problem with Afrihost. Cancelled, and reversed my debit order at the bank.
Went with Crystalweb , and 3 days later I got my device.

Was still paying full price then but just couldn't handle Afrihost's arrogance.

Afrihost are just rubbish... Not a day goes by that I don't hear a complaint about them.
My personal experience with them was terrible and I'll never use them again.
    They've become the new Telkom
Of course I talk to myself. Sometimes I need expert advice.

Also not sure why they have an 'online chat' option...there is never anyone available to help you

There is a lesson to be learned here, an old lesson actually:

Nothing free can ever be as good as something paid for.

Same issue here. Money taken off my account on the 22nd of Sep. Bank account eventually verified on the 27th. Router hasn't even been handed to the couriers yet. I just get handed from dept to dept, with no-one actually taking responsability for sorting out the issue.

    Absolutely shocking customer service.

I did a simple fibre link upgrade from 4mb to 20mb with them. Took them exactly 3 weeks to get it done. I must have logged 20 different calls and spoke to 6 or 7 different people trying to sort it out. They used to be so good.

It's like they are employing incompetent people lately.

Would love to hear from Gian what's going on there.

Oh and on top of all of this. They were already billing me for the 20mb link. Useless I say.

Just placed my order as well. This will be used as backup, so no rush for me, but lets see what happens. :fingerscrossed:

I can give your gian direct email if you want but i dont think it will help. They really do seem to be messing about with their service delivery. I have also noted that my order of rain with them is taking very long now. Got a call from Digi Planet or something along those lines just to say is this your address then thats it.

They wont be winning an award from MyBroadband though that im certain about.

And those who ordered well before the router was free and paid full price? STFU
