Default SCA dismisses Zuma appeal on corruption charges

The Supreme Court of Appeal on Friday dismissed a bid by President Jacob Zuma to appeal a previous ruling that he could face 783 corruption-related charges.

Zuma and the National Prosecuting Authority had asked the court to overturn a Pretoria High Court judgment that the charges could be reinstated.

Zuma Spy Tapes Judgment Day cometh: Will Shaun Abrahams finally honour his oath of office?

Shaun Abrahams, head of the country’s beleaguered National Prosecution Authority will find himself in the spotlight on Friday when the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein hands down judgment in President Jacob Zuma and the NPA’s appeal against a High Court order for the reinstatement of 783 charges of fraud, corruption and racketeering against the President. It is clear from September representations made to the SCA that Abrahams is a worried man. Will he finally find his spine and honour his oath of office and the rule of law? By MARIANNE THAMM.

Great news but can see them squirming and diving for a long time to come.

I would love to see it but have little confidence our dear Prez will get his much deserved day in court.

Still amazes me how the defense and the prosecution are batting for the same team.

What are the chances these charges will go any further, with NPA hell-bent on squashing them?

I believe Justice Malala makes a really good point here...

With a house in Dubai #Zuma is now a flight risk. Shouldn't he appear in court for a fresh bail hearing? Travel restrictions. #SuspectZuma

Zuma and the National Prosecuting Authority
how is it possible that the accused and the people who are supposed to prosecute him are combining forces to circumvent the law?

NPA form part of Prez Zuma's defence team. They don't even try to hide it anymore.

You think that can be proven?

Remember that time JZ claimed the Sunday Times fabricated the story, took them to court and the court ruled they should print a retraction? No? Me neither.

Of course he is going to appeal to the ConCourt. And the NPA will still refuse to bring charges, they are captured remember.
