The headline is slightly misleading at only 60 Million.

The article states up to 60 Million per torpedo!

Neighbour's son is a "technical assistant" in SAN submarines. He says the captain and crew are sh***ing themselves at the thought of going to sea. They have heard rumours of these torpedoes, but there is some contraption around the loading tube that needs urgent replacement before they can be loaded. Otherwise, the sea-water will flood in the moment they open the outer door to fire the thing

They could have a "Kursk" incident and be tapping on the hull while lying on the bottom

Don't be surprised to learn the buying department at the Navy is run by someone closely connected to Zuma and/or the Guptas.

I.e. they can afford 1. And hopefully its not at SAS Jalsena when they need it in Simonstown

How do you sink an SAS submarine? Knock.on the hatch.
How do you sink an SAS ship? Put it in water.
How long can an SAS submarine stay under water? As long a the oarsmen can hold their breath.

The Kursk is the first thing that came to my mind. Let's hope these torpedoes don't need regular maintenance from skilled personnel.
