They're no more prepared. The opposition will probably campaign on a negative message that the ANC failed to recall Zuma when even the concourt ruled he failed to uphold the country's constitution. But the ANC could lose a lot as Zuma's supporters will probably stay away from the polls feeling he was betrayed.

He tried to get a three month hand-over period so he could attend upcoming AU and UN Summits abroad.
I suspect with the Bank of Baroda closing its doors imminently, a large trove of ill-gotten Gupta cash will be liquidated and need to be smuggled abroad. They can't risk new State Capture investigators launching an asset freeze or forfeiture on them now that Ramaphosa has taken over. The Gupta's need a trusted illicit outflow courier to use his inviolable diplomatic bags to get their last fortunes out of the country so they can emigrate to Dubai and try escape SA prosecution.

He just wants 3 more months, so in 3 months time he can just say he needs 3 more months. Rinse repeat.

Being recalled doesn't work like that. It needs to go to a motion of no confidence or impeachment as the President has refused to step down.

The opposition may very well take Gauteng, next year. The DA Mayors have been doing good work. However, I just don't see the ANC ever loosing majority.

Hmmm, will see. Despite all this I still think there is still only a 50% chance he accepts the recall. He may force them to go the vote of no confidence route. That will take a while as the ANC will not want to vote with the opposition, they will want to do it in a vote they tabled (which is childish).

And as I reflect on this whole debacle I still think back to how we thought Mbheki was a poor president. He was brilliant compared to Zuma. If I think of the institutionalised crime that has overtaken government under Zuma's watch it sickens me. The country is bleeding for investment and infrastructure and these clowns have looted the fiscus dry. What a tragedy.

Also I really see little changing with Cyril. He was actively protecting Zuma for most of his term. He is cut from the same cloth as far as I am concerned.

He needs to have all his benefits stripped from him by means of a motion of no confidence or impeachment.
I'm glad the ANC has proclaimed that there is NO DEAL!

BTW - Mbeki was a great President and I'll always admire him. Such a pity this thug, the liberal bourgeoisies owned press and HIV drug storm troopers united to pull their self-serving coup.

A political party does not have the power to remove a president. Only parliament can do that. They can recall him all they want but if he does not have the good grace to resign the only alternative is a vote of no confidence or impeachment in parliament.

Yip, fine by me though, he loses all his presidential benefits then, well worth the couple of days extra.

I think they will just stop voting which makes a huge difference when everybody else votes.

Actively protecting him? I think you are laying it on a bit thick there. Nomvula, Bathabile, Maphatsoe and Ace were actively protecting Zuma.

yeah. Great president. Countless who died because it turns out beetroot doesn't do squat to HIV though.

I believe if he doesn't survive a no confidence vote; he keeps all his presidential benefits. it's only if he is impeached, that he looses all of that.
