Default VIDEOS: Pupils beating up their teachers in SA

    https://citizen.co.za/news/south-afr...eachers-in-sa/

A massive intervention is needed as various videos of learners and teachers going head to head in violence have trended this week.

At least three videos of teachers and learners in physical confrontations were widely shared on social media by Tuesday.

The schools and teachers have not yet been identified, but the videos appear to have prompted a huge outcry for immediate action. Not one of the children’s faces is clear in any of the very grainy videos, which has led to The Citizen feeling that republishing them below does not identify them.

I wonder what the parents have to say about their children's?
But I guess the moral compass is so broken in society that the first remark would be that the teacher deserved it

So two videos unconfirmed and possibly the teacher initiated the physical contact in one of them.
    Great reporting.

The second video, also dated June 12, shows a female learner and an older woman assumed to be a teacher in a heated debate. The woman smacks the learner on the head and the learner immediately fights back.
The third video shows two pupils dressed in school uniform fighting with a woman. It is still unclear if the woman is a teacher

This is clearly the fault of the parents, they should have burned their kids' schools down long before this kinda thing was allowed to foster..

I saw a video of what appears to be 2 girls fighting and then an adult, described as a female teacher, tries to intervene. Then the tables turn one of the girls starts wailing on the teacher, she's down and getting a good hiding. Unfortunately, it is one of those videos that begin and end in the middle without context given. But the incident happened in this country.

The last video has been doing the rounds on teacher's groups today. The adult is a teacher who took one of the girl's cellphone. The cellphone was confiscated during class time. The student was disrupting class by playing music on her cellphone. The two students waited till school was finished and jumped the teacher outside the school grounds.

We deal with this kind of crap the whole day. The thing is, if a student hits a teacher on school grounds there is nothing we can do. We can't fight back, the school leadership has to take care of the problem, disciplinary hearing, blah, blah, blah, in other words not much happens.

If a child hits a teacher outside school grounds the school can't do a thing because it happened off school grounds. The only thing a teacher can do is file assault charges and well, you know how far that gets.

In other words the child basically gets anger management classes and dropped from the teacher's class which adds up to really no kind of punishment. A child basically has nothing to lose when they hit a teacher and until they have something to lose then this will just keep going on.

Schools are going down the tubes in a big way. There is very little discipline because there is really not much that we can do. Thanks to government policy it is almost impossible for a student to be expelled from a school.
