Nineteen people were injured when an aircraft crashed in the north of Pretoria on Tuesday afternoon.

This happened shortly after the chartered aircraft had taken off, said local CPF chairman Vernon Smith.

“Residents watched in horror as the airplane fell into a field east of the Moloto Road.”

Paramedic Xander Loubser said early indications were that 19 people were injured in the crash.

Several of them suffered serious injuries, he said.

    A 'casualty' can be 'injured'.
