Absolute hell trying to get FTTH activated between Cool Ideas and Vumatel

Really, really frustrating, but okay. Will I need to go through the whole activation/provisioning process again once the line has been fixed?

Absolute hell trying to get FTTH activated between Cool Ideas and Vumatel

I received an email claiming that the line is active and have been sent an invoice, but the ONT is still not activated... The support department tells me that the line is down and there's nothing they can do and the connect department is telling me because it's activated the ticket has been...

Absolute hell trying to get FTTH activated between Cool Ideas and Vumatel

They have contacted me, though it was not helpful at all and I was just told that it had been escalated to Vumatel again. Edit: After calling back I was told that a technician would be sent out today, so will wait to see if that happens.

Absolute hell trying to get FTTH activated between Cool Ideas and Vumatel

Recently moved into a new place (Joburg, Melrose area) with a pre-existing fibre installation. Should be simple, right? Just activate the line and there we go. Apparently not. Cool Ideas are claiming the activation failed and blamed me for "not making sure it was plugged in". The ONT has been...

New inverter doesn't have ground connection point for AC out?

Thanks for the replies, the "should be alright" comment was really just a bit of a joke, already fixed the wires!

New inverter doesn't have ground connection point for AC out?

You guys need a sarcasm detector. Double jointed thumbs. I've yet to find something that's useful for, but thank you for the suggestion!

New inverter doesn't have ground connection point for AC out?

For some odd reason the plug insert I have on the other end was connected the other way around, so should be alright I reckon?

New inverter doesn't have ground connection point for AC out?

Would anyone be able to give me an indication of how to connect ground for the AC out? There's only two connection points for L/N so not entirety sure what to do with the ground wire.

Mecer 2400VA Inverter (Community Support) - Part 2

Thanks, that makes sense. Now that I've actually looked at the battery spec sheet again, they do say the standard "Standard Charge Current/A" is 50, so I suppose that's actually fine.

Mecer 2400VA Inverter (Community Support) - Part 2

Thanks for everyone's feedback. Picked up a 3kW pure-sine inverter that can do up to 50A AC charging and has PV input for if my living situation changed and I can get some panels. Will the BMS determine how quickly they charge? 50A seems a bit stiff. I'm going to gift the Mercer to my folks...

Mecer 2400VA Inverter (Community Support) - Part 2

The spec sheet that the seller sent me says they support a maximum of 2 (24v) in series, so I'd figure that's reasonably safe. It's only here that I've seen the "never put LiFePO4 batteries in series" narrative. The comment about the cheap inverter is a fair criticism though, but I already had...

Mecer 2400VA Inverter (Community Support) - Part 2

Solar unfortunately isn't an option (rental), otherwise I'd have gone all-out with a 8kW and done something proper.

Mecer 2400VA Inverter (Community Support) - Part 2

If it's only a cooling issue, could I just cut a hole in the top and toss a (silent) always-on fan on there? Alternatively, do you have any inverter recommendations?

Mecer 2400VA Inverter (Community Support) - Part 2

Sorry but why wouldn't I be able to use the 20A charging mode? I've looked into a few 3kW options but they all seem alternatively expensive (R8k+) or noisy as hell, which isn't ideal for me.
