    This seems accurate. I would say minimum 4 hours for a proper charge. The first charge out the box it seemed to charge most of the night, but from there it has only been top up charges. Thanks for the detailed info.

    Are you exempt from load shedding?

    I wish! We have load shedding, and when the power is off the water also disappears. Yesterday we sat with no power for almost 36 hours, and it's becoming a more frequent thing that the power stays off longer.

    Were you wanting to do this because your old Mecer has solar panels connected? I'm also looking for panels for the 3kw. We sat with no power for 36 hours yesterday, and it's happening more frequently. Could at least use this unit to power fridge.

    I received my 3kw unit on Friday 12 May, and started using it on Saturday. It took me a very long time to decide on buying an inverter, party because of specs, partly because of how some of these other inverters are put together. Some of them are just a wall mounted unit on top of a battery box...

    It's essentially a freestanding plug and play unit. So like you described, put the unit down, power it up and run extensions to the devices you want to power. But I know of people who have wired similar even smaller units into the DB board, given that you don't run any really power hungry items...
