CryptoQR payments roll out to all 1,500 Pick n Pay stores in South Africa

CryptoQR payments roll out to all 1,500 Pick n Pay stores in South Africa

You might not pay a fee, but retailers like PnP lose 1-3% of your transaction value in card processing fees. I agree with you to some extent, however, not only those with nodes get to vote. Miners also exercise their vote. The important part is that it's an open system. Anyone is welcome to propose a new BIP, you're also welcome to run your own node and/or miner.

Do you really want a CBDC: I personally prefer BTC, an open, immutable, permissionless, money with fixed supply that cannot be altered by any central authority.

We can only hope that with mass adoption, SARS will be forced to treat these small transactions similar to Australia's Tax Authority: https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals/investments-and-assets/crypto-asset-investments/crypto-as-a-personal-use-asset/

Download BlueWallet app on your phone and create a Lightning wallet. Tap "Manage Funds" and "Refill with External Wallet", then send BTC to that address from Luno. That is an on-chain transaction, so it will take around 30 minutes to reflect on BlueWallet. Then download the CryptoQR app on your...
